The Jean OBERTINO bell foundry in Morteau has a new manager. The manufacture of bronze bells in the Haut Doubs region has been handed down through seven generations of the same family, originally from Italy in the foothills of the Alps. For the first time in 200 years, the foundry is leaving the family fold. A woman of Cambodian origin, who has lived in the Val de Morteau for the past 20 years, has decided to take over the reins of this flagship French manufacture. One of the last bronze bell foundries in France. What a symbol!
